Arthur Murray Dance Productions presents ‘Dancing With the Local Heroes,’ Friday, February 26. Local celebrities and local heroes, including philanthropists, firefighters, teachers and police will compete for the title of the “DWTLH 2016 Champion” in this Dancing With The Stars– style dance competition.

The fundraiser, which includes routines to some of the most popular dance, hip-hop and tango music, will benefit Orlando Sentinel‘s Family Fund. Alongside the locals are Arthur Murray Dance students, who are also competing for the honor.

The judges for the event include Stephen Smyth, owner of the Winter Park studio, Emily Bergman, owner of the Orlando studio, expert judge Michelle Barry, Jorge Cruz and yours truly! Doing what I do best, I suppose.

Damian Sanderson, Manager of the Lake Mary studio, is coordinating the event. Studios from Winter Park, Clermont, Orlando, Lake Mary and Waterford Lakes have donated free lessons to the local competitors, as well as costumes.

Arthur Murray Dance Centers have been around 104 years with over 260 studios worldwide, specializing in beginner dance. Free lesson to all new students.
