Enter to Win ‘White Women’ from Chromeo!

White Women, from Chromeo via Big Beat / Atlantic is available now!  The album marks the self-proclaimed “Larry David of Funk” outfit writing and recording their most fully realized body of work to date, honing in on a sound that highlights their indie hero legacy while paying homage to some of their greatest artistic inspirations by way of well-crafted, modern pop songs and iconic imagery. Ranging from sultry R&B hooks to classic rock riffs with their always hilarious and charmingly vulnerable lyrics, White Women is their reinterpretation of the late great 70s and 80s disco funk era that gave way to the culture from which they were born.

For your chance to win a copy, Comment below with the name of the late night show where they recently debuted their song “Sexy Socialite.” Winners will be chosen at random Friday, May 30th at 6pm ET.

CHROMEO-WHITE-WOMEN-PACKSHOT

A band with a history like Chromeo is no stranger to breaking through barriers and White Women, the joint effort of perhaps the world’s most successful Arab / Jewish partnership, is the obvious, ambitious next step for a duo whom naysayers once dismissed as a mere tongue-in-cheek project. Now, almost ten years later, it’s as if the caricatures of Dave 1 and P-Thugg have come to life as Chromeo’s exponential growth and fan emulation continue thanks to their signature high brow / low brow sensibility, which is both immediately recognizable and eminently relatable. Everything from the Helmut Newton-inspired album title to the meticulously designed and iconic Surface To Air artwork, to the high concept music videos and outrageous live appearances…. that all contain that certain special Chromeo je ne sais quoi… have aided in what has become one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of 2014.

Dave and Pee kicked off the album campaign in late 2013 with collaborations with Snarkitecture, MILK Studios, Tumblr and Surface To Air, made TV history with their live version of “Sexy Socialite” with Death From Above 1979 as their backing band on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and sold out shows in the US and Europe within minutes of announcing them. 2014 sees the boys coming even stronger, with the video for “Come Alive” featuring Toro y Moi, Coachella Festival performances, a Red Rocks headlining show, the 26 date Come Alive Tour across the US, UK and Europe (many of the shows are already sold-out, see list below) and many more exciting details to be revealed

Chromeo have released what could very well be their biggest song to date. “Jealous (I Ain’t With It)” is available on iTunes. The group have also launched the pre-order for their long-awaited album, White Women -“Jealous” and the other previously released singles: “Come Alive” (feat. Toro y Moi), “Sexy Socialite” and “Over Your Shoulder”, are immediately available as instant grats.
