LOGO Debuts First-Ever Mini-Series
Just in time for the Olympics, Ice Queens features a comedic re-telling of the infamous Nancy Kerrigan/ Tonya Harding Winter Olympic scandal. The mini-series features some memorable faces of Ru Paul’s Drag Race past, including Willam Belli as Tonya Harding, Morgan McMichaels as Nancy Kerrigan and features Delta Work as an FBI agent and Yara Sofia as Oksana Baiul.
Logo TV, Viacom’s television, digital and social brand focused on the LGBT community, today announced plans to debut the world’s first ever mini-series to simultaneously premiere across television, web, mobile and social. The comedic homage parodies the various made-for-TV melodramatic biopics and documentaries highlighting the attack and subsequent aftermath. The five night multi-platform event kicks off tonight on Logo TV, LogoTV.com, the newly released LogoTV app on iOS, as well as Logo’s social platforms on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine.
“To mark the 20th anniversary of the controversy and with the Winter Olympics in full swing, we wanted to offer a fresh take on one of the games’ most memorable moments, while getting fans excited for a new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race,” said Pamela Post, Vice President of Programming for Logo TV. “For better or worse, Ice Queens now becomes a foot note in TV history as the first film to premiere across all platforms at the same time.”
The five night multi-platform event debuted Feb. 19 at 9pm ET/PT. Ru Paul’s Drag Race, season 6 premieres Monday, Feb. 24 at 9pm ET.
